• Open Image: it opens the image you want to render (the supported file formats are GIF, JPEG and PNG)
• Open Database: it opens the database of images, you can select both a .pim file and a directory of images (the supported file formats are GIF, JPEG and PNG)
• Open Directional Guidelines: it opens the directional guidelines; the directional guidelines must be a black and white image, with the lines colored black and the background colored white (the supported file formats are GIF, JPEG and PNG)
• Remove Directional Guidelines: it removes the directional guidelines
• Create: it creates the Puzzle Image Mosaic (the necessary time depends on the image size)
• Save Image: it saves the image (the supported format is only PNG)
• Save Database: it saves the .pim file
• Save Directional Guidelines: it saves directional guidelines (the supported format is only PNG)

• "Side": it changes the median region dimension of the Puzzle Image Mosaic

• If no directional guidelines are used then the Puzzle Image Mosaic will be created using the directional guidelines automatically obtained (to see the difference, we suggest you to try with and without automatic directional guidelines detection)
• To use the applet the Java2 5.0 must be installed
